Work in Progress
ImmuneWorks is just one example of the companies that have been funded by BioCrossroads' Indiana Seed Fund.
Groundbreaking research is advancing ImmuneWorks, an Indianapolis-based biotechnology company, in the development of treatments for serious lung diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a devastating chronic lung disease that currently is taking the lives of more than 40,000 people a year. BioCrossroads originally encouraged the founding researchers, Drs. David Wilkes and Michael Klemsz, to bring their product to market, start the company and collaborate with other biotech companies. BioCrossroads also invested $300,000 in ImmuneWorks from the Indiana Seed Fund I, and helped them network with venture capital firms and a large biotech company.
